Alpha Transmission – Recollect [TRILLVO Premiere]

The Mothership has entered the atmosphere.

Alpha Transmission is an artist we know and support all too well. You may remember the INSANE mix he did for us to close out the year-that-shall-not-be-named. A mastermind behind both the production table and the visual arts, we always HIGHLY anticipate the heaters and vibes that Alpha Transmission beams down to our atmosphere. This time around he teams up with the fam over at Wubaholics to provide the aura of energy that is “Recollect.”

In regards to working with Wubaholics, we’ve DM’d on Twitter since late fall of last year and they wanted one of my tracks to release and we finally found time that worked for both of us.  They’re the Florida homies and they’ve been super supportive of a lot of my stuff in the past and I’m hype to have something out with them finally.

Starting with prominence, Alpha Transmission lets you know he has just touched down on Planet Wub. A vocal sampled is hidden underneath the tones that slowly creeps up to the foreground to fully be embodied before the drops hits with a laser like lead chirping on top of a straight groove that’ll have you moving side to side with ease. “Recollect” will transport you right back on Mulberry Mountain like your right under the sun at Wakaan Fest, chilling on an inflatable couch at main stage with your best friends. The sample comes back in to bridge the next section of the track where Alpha dials in the the filth transmitters and turns the track up past, and smashing, our previous perceptions. But catch the vibe quick, as it doesn’t stay for long before Alpha masterfully creates a perfect ending to the track to bring it full circle and make you want to smash that replay button.

“As far as the track goes, it’s been a while since I wrote it but I think a lot of it originally came from making just a hip hop beat with some boom bap influence, maybe I was back on an MF DOOM kick at the time.  I might have been writing an instrumental for an artist at the time and it all started with the drums and I started jamming with them and decided this track is mine now and just heard that main line in my head and cranked it out. I just wanted to write something that you can really bob your head and wag a finger to lol”

Enter The Void With BADVOID’s Addictingly Gritty New EP

If you still haven’t heard of this incredible new artist, hopefully the insanely yet beautifully dark EP above did a good job of introducing you to him. But if not, you can get to know BADVOID further from the interview he did with us Here. Having already had tracks released under such labels as BuygoreBarong Family, and Enforce Records, this Australian-based producer continues to strive for greatness. Not only has he had releases under such labels as those, but artists like Zeds DeadWhipped Cream and Ghastly have all shown his tracks support! Now this young producer has given us his hardest hitting EP yet! So without further ado, let’s Enter the Void, shall we?

featured-badvoid

The Enter the Void EP starts us off with the track, “Ultra.” It’s an Electro/Bass-driven song that hits us with dystopian future type of vibes. It’s as if listening to a more hardcore version of the Tron soundtrack! I especially love the laserbeam style effects within the track. Just driving to this made me feel invincible in a way.

“Trust” (featuring Huzu) gives us more of a melodic feel with some vocals attached, but quickly builds up into an eruptive robotic-sounding, mechanically-driven Bass Titan. It’s gritty nature only adds to its greatness as a track, and I appreciate it for all the elements it combines. The drop for this track instantly makes me want to watch an epic battle amongst Transformers. It’s just got those robotic/machine-heavy vibes to it and I absolutely love it.

Closing out the EP we have “Get Out,” featuring WHZLY. This one has some good vocal lyrics to it, with a nice piano melody as well. The drop itself is another well produced Bass machine. The piano melody that follows up the drop works so well and adds such a great depth of emotion. BADVOID certainly has a way with his music. It’s as if he treats every track with methodical care, so that it may bloom into the beautiful electronic tapestry before us.

This EP is definitely the perfect stepping stone for a young artist such as this one to truly launch his career into great directions. We here at Trillvo couldn’t be happier to support such a talented growing musician such as BADVOID. We already have this EP on repeat, and I already sense we’ll be doing the same for future releases.

PYRO – BURNA [TRILLVO Premiere]

The name Pyro should sound familiar if you’re a fan of TRILLVO. We featured him back in September of 2020 as our Artist Spotlight, and he released one HELL of a guest mix for us. Well the 18 year old San Antonio native is back and makes his 2021 debut with his latest track “BURNA.” We are more than honored to get the chance to premiere a track by a young up-and-coming producer from our own home state of Texas. This track is one that Pyro has been teasing for a while now, so for it to finally be unleashed onto the world marks a glorious day for the bass scene.

Starting off with low-key grooves, “BURNA” will waste non time drawing you in with its laser like lead that builds up to straight mayhem. You know once the track starts its going to lead up to some impending insanity, but Pyro definitely provides us with an energetic intro before he gets us to that madness. The drop is lead by a masterful hitting bass with some sharp tones that growl for attention all the while as it builds on top of its own energy in what seems like a infinite climb of hype. Lucky for us those Pyro gives us some breathing room, if not briefly, to realign ourselves before the track goes pure bonkers. The second drops takes the first and mutates it to insanity with its flips, switches and surprises at every beat. Easy one to hit repeat on; we’re sure “BURNA” will be getting nothing but love from the bass scene. Were pleased to see what else Pyro has up his sleeve for 2021.

“Been holding onto this one for a little while now, and figured it was time to show you guys what I’ve been working on during the lockdown! I’m so excited to finally be releasing this as my first single of the year, and really hope to push the new sound of PYRO this year. This is just a glimpse of what’s to come <3”

Veer – IDK [TRILLVO Premiere]

Never fear when you see the name Veer. Coming hot off the heels of his Insidious Crew’s Vol. 1 Compilation, eighteen year old Veer makes his return to Never Say Die: Black Label. This time around the Mumbai Madman is serving us up another game changing, genre breaking EP that sure to stay on repeat. The IDK EP comes out fully this Friday, 3.5.21, so make sure you hit that pre-save. We will just warn you now though, if you think you know Veer’s sound, you have no idea.

Releasing with Never Say Die: Black Label had always been a dream of mine. To think I already have a second EP with them feels unreal; makes me feel I am doing at least something right with my music. I am looking forward to working with them more in the future and hopefully also get on the Main Label one day as that is still one of my goals.

Starting off deeply with tones from the depths, as if being submerged under water, “IDK” slowly creeps up with its beauty. A twinkling synth takes center stage as the intro fades into the backgrounds abyss, as that lead synth is brought all the way to prominence, becoming brighter and mixing with the synchronicity of the tones flawlessly to create an inspiring, uplifting yet straight groove of a tune. Veer continues that same beauty as he bridges the sections with masterful ease before teasing a pitched up vocal sample right before the second drop comes in with more awe-inspiring melodies. A far cry from some of his previous sounds, Veer showcases his immense talent and diversity with “IDK” and we can’t wait to see just where else his sounds evolve into. Truly a journey to keep your eyes on, “IDK” brings out some pure beauty that Veer has been hiding that were more that thrilled to peep more of.

This entire EP was a wild experience to write. All the tracks were written separately with no idea of me comping them into an EP at the end. “IDK” holds a special place to me because the entire writing process was so different compared to every other song that I’ve ever made. I always used to make melodic music but recently I have been focused more on heavy + experimental riddim stuff. Going back to making melodic music was such an amazing experience because I got to fuse something I missed making into something new, incorporating my own style to it.

Experience Paralysis Analysis With Chee’s New EP

Have you ever craved something different when it comes to music? Well look no further, as CHEE is here to meet your expectations, and then some. This South African producer specializes in the weird, the experimental and the unknown. He’s even gotten earned support from big artists like NoisiaCulprateMat Zo, and even G Jones. Clearly CHEE’s more than solidified his spot in the music world, but now it seems as if he’s launching himself into new realms. Both figuratively and sonically, thanks to his new Paralysis Analysis EP.

“Wallflower” kicks off the EP with some nice sonically, yet electronically-driven vibes. It’s got a good beat to bob your head to. With how unique the sounds are, it almost feels as if the track itself is a living creature. Although it also evokes feelings of emptiness, as if it’s taken you to a dark dimension you can’t escape from.

“Lid on the Squid” starts off with what appears to be a news broadcast, before warping us into our next uncertain adventure. We’re given another gritty beat with a plethora of different sounds, distorted frequencies and just plain wonkyness that you can’t help but keep interest in.

The clear standout from the EP is “Fight Club,” featuring Mr. Carmack. This track gives us some gritty yet sonically driven melodies, with a vocal sample that accentuates the beat that accompanies it. Honestly, I’d personally love to see CHEE make a Trap or even Trip Hop album, because these beats really stick with you.

As deadly as the name sounds, “Operator Bludgeoning” definitely has the beats to slay you. The distorted vocal of whoever is rapping over the track makes it even better. You can’t help but be taken on this crazy ride that keeps you locked in and invested until the very end.

Last but of course not least, “Turn Up” does exactly what its title suggests. “Turn Up” rings throughout the first minute of the track, as a heavy beat joins it while distorted bass and other sounds pulsate your ears in such an oh so satisfying yet weird way.

Here’s a few words Chee himself had to say about the EP:

“I was elated to have my good friend, African Ginger, work on the art for “Turn Up” and later have the opportunity to work with him on the final EP art. I wanted the recurring theme to be a feeling of restraint & the need to escape, but partially being paralyzed by one’s own mind. The process of overanalyzing, causing one to freeze and be a prisoner of their own thoughts. I think a lot of people can relate to that feeling, especially after this last year, and I feel the art does the perfect job portraying that internal conflict a lot of us face daily.”

Tripp St. Will Have You “Livin” With New Single

The anonymous innovator known as Tripp St. is certainly carving their name amongst the Funk and Bass scenes. Debuting on the heels of their newest album’s lead track, “I Am Back,” Tripp St. gives us the second succulent dish in the form of “Livin.” This track is sure to make you feel like you’re livin’, because of the smooth, soulful yet funky/jazzy vibe it brings with it. Those elements are what makes this track sound very far apart from the traditional electronic music we’re used to hearing nowadays. This track has no definitive drop, but instead encapsulates a feel good vibe that entrances you from beginning to end. “Livin” is a harmonious work of organ work and chord progressions. With harps and synths peppered throughout, melodic percussive elements bind it all together within a nice vibey sandwich.

Honestly this track gave me such relaxing feelings. It’s the type of song you want to sit somewhere quiet while sipping on a mimosa or have a smoke. It’s perfect Sunday vibes yet is still good enough to listen to on any day of the week. If this song is any indication of the greatness we can expect from the album, then count us fully invested into this project.

DirtySnatcha Releases New Single “Found Myself” with Katie Sky

Born and raised in the heart of where dubstep originated, England, DirtySnatcha produces a variety of heavy original tracks ranging from dubstep, to trap, to riddim. His collaborations with artists such as Riot Ten, Rico Act, Lucii, Boogie T, Monxx, Squnto, and more have proven that he is able to produce a variety of music, and that he can appeal to bass heads from all ages and areas of the world. His latest track “Found Myself” is an introspective look at how love can help us find ourselves.

This track shows another side of DirtySnatcha’s producing ability. Typically he has created hard-hitting bass tracks. But the piano melody in the intro to “Found Myself” sets the tone for a somber and mellow mood. The laid back drums move the energy towards the future trap drop. The way Katie Sky’s soft voice pairs well with the subtle synths is a particular stand out for the track as well.

DirtySnatcha will be releasing a new EP soon, so keep an eye on his socials!

What does Epilogue Mean for Daft Punk?

Epilogue – a final or concluding act or event.

This morning, the Daft Punk official pages posted a new video, titled solely “Epilogue.”

The video starts with everyone’s favorite robots walking out into the desert to silence, with only the wind blowing being audible. About 1:45 in they turn to face one another, as Thomas Bangalter’s Silver-domed bot was walking ahead of Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christ Golden one. Thomas turns to face Guy-Manuel, they stare at one another for quite some time, locked in an embrace, as their music has been for years. Then Thomas unbuttons and throws off his coat and turns around. On his back is a set of buttons and a switch. The switch is hit by Guy-Manuel and a countdown begins. He slowly walks into the desert where he self destructs and a “Daft Punk 1993-2021” date is displayed on screen. Daft Punk music begins as the sun rises and the solo member now walks across the screen.

Did Daft Punk just become a solo project or are they done for good?! Tell us your thoughts!!!
