Tripp St. Will Have You “Livin” With New Single

The anonymous innovator known as Tripp St. is certainly carving their name amongst the Funk and Bass scenes. Debuting on the heels of their newest album’s lead track, “I Am Back,” Tripp St. gives us the second succulent dish in the form of “Livin.” This track is sure to make you feel like you’re livin’, because of the smooth, soulful yet funky/jazzy vibe it brings with it. Those elements are what makes this track sound very far apart from the traditional electronic music we’re used to hearing nowadays. This track has no definitive drop, but instead encapsulates a feel good vibe that entrances you from beginning to end. “Livin” is a harmonious work of organ work and chord progressions. With harps and synths peppered throughout, melodic percussive elements bind it all together within a nice vibey sandwich.

Honestly this track gave me such relaxing feelings. It’s the type of song you want to sit somewhere quiet while sipping on a mimosa or have a smoke. It’s perfect Sunday vibes yet is still good enough to listen to on any day of the week. If this song is any indication of the greatness we can expect from the album, then count us fully invested into this project.

BRUER Gets “Nasty” With Single From Upcoming EP

Talk about kicking off 2021 with some crazy Bass vibes! BRUER is here to introduce us to his newest single, “Nasty,” which is included in his upcoming debut EP Mind Flay. Hailing all the way from the Mile High City, known by many as the Bass capital, Denver-based producer BRUER ,aka Will Mayer, sets his sights on taking the dance scene by storm with his freeform sound and unique style. After moving around from place to place, Mayer found himself in L.A. at age 18. After growing up listening to various styles of dance music such as Happy Hardcore to Trance, it further fueled Mayer to create a sound all his own. After enrolling at ICON Collective, BRUER took inspiration from some of his favorite names in music, including artists such as Slander, Linkin Park and even Red Hot Chili Peppers. Now with his unique mixture of experimental and freeform Bass, as well as Future Bass, we are treated to BRUER’s newest single, “Nasty.”

“Nasty” gives off the exact vibes you’d imagine from a track with a name such. It’s gritty, has attitude and doesn’t let up with it’s use of percussive elements. This track has got some merciless 808s along with some weirdly satisfying harmonies that is sure to keep you locked in for the ride. If you’re looking to fall into the realm of freeform Bass goodness, then let this be your secret oasis. This track is just a small taste of what you can expect when BRUER’s EP drops later this month. Speaking of which, here’s what he had to say about the upcoming EP.

“The ‘Mind Flay’ EP is a rebirth of my sound and identity as BRUER. I wanted to evolve as an artist and make a statement. I had made a lot of this heavy melodic bass stuff but I had never done anything quite like this before. This felt new and exciting to me. It felt different. Producing music has always been about having fun and I felt the need to expand. This is the first chapter to that story.” – BRUER

Fransis Derelle, CRaymak & HVDES Give Us a Fiery Collab

Coming at us hot off of Thanksgiving, Fransis Derelle teams up with fellow producers CRaymak and HVDES for “Ember“. It’s a powerfully explosive Future Bass track that puts HVDES’ vocals to great use. The intro to the track is both wondrous and ethereal, along with those beautiful lyrics by HVDES. “There’s a tragedy in every ember…” is heard just before that immense drop. It really adds a great depth of emotion to the track. What’s even better is that the second drop goes even harder than the one that preceded it. This song really pulls you in and will most definitely make you feel the fire. If you haven’t already been aware, Fransis Derelle has already been building up a fresh catalogue throughout 2020 for a variety of labels across the dance music spectrum. He still remains part of Kayzo’s Welcome Records, Flux Pavilion’s Circus and even Excision’s Subsidia. Saying Fransis has been a busy artist this year would be an understatement. With this collab giving us the feel-good goosebumps, we’re eager to see what kind of feels trip Fransis will take us next.

Get Bridged by a Lightwave From Deadmau5 & Kiesza’s New Single

A year later and he’s finally back! That’s right, deadmau5 has graced us with one of the most serenely exquisite tracks I’ve heard in years. This time, he’s aided by Kiesza’s euphoric vocals. And let me just say, these lyrics are some of the most memorable in a deadmau5 song. What’s even better is that we’re blessed with three different iterations of the track! The radio edit gets straight to the point, albeit shorter than what I’d like. The alternative mix is an interesting yet almost Deep House take on it, but the true winner is the nine minute plus long version of the song. This version starts off with Kiesza’s soft vocals, leads us to a grand buildup that only deadmau5 is iconic for and then gives us nice concise bass drop with prominent ping-like sounds accompanied with well-placed claps and some of the best kicks to match.

The nine minute journey that is “Bridged by a Lightwave” is how a deadmau5 song is meant to be experienced. The addictive chords, powerful progressions and thought-invoking melodies are what I love about deadmau5 tracks like these. It’ll be worth hearing it live once the Mau5 is able to go on tour again. Those who attended the few drive in shows he had in Canada may have already been lucky enough to hear this track live. Regardless, if this is any indication of what we can get in the future (maybe even from the next album?) then you can already count me more than fully invested.

“You Should Run” Towards Moore Kismet’s New Track

Written by Michael Placencia

The prodigious Moore Kismet is back with one of their most beautifully addicting tracks yet. Making their debut on NIGHTMODE, “You Should Run” will take you for a ride and never let go. It features the angelic vocals of Pauline Herr, and it’s those vocals that adds that extra soulful depth to this chill, House/Future Bass-esque track. It’s a great piece of music to just drift off in thought to. The lyrics will make you think about life, love and everything in between. But it’s that drop towards the end that’ll make your head spin in the best of ways. Moore Kismet‘s always had a knack for sound design, but this really shows a serene yet softer side that is much needed during times like this. It’s important to reflect upon things, and this track may very well be made for just that.

Despite the ongoing pandemic, No Mana had a huge breakout at the beginning of this year with his first debut album, Secret Level, having dropped in February. If you’ve heard the album, you may already recognize the name Voicians. And the good thing is, both No Mana and Voicians are back with the powerfully addicting, “The Same Way.” It’s all Electro House, and it’s heavy with beautiful undertones, melodies and a driving force all its own. Voicians‘ vocals only enhances the track by giving it added emotion. Keep your eyes on No Mana, because we believe there’s more coming from him soon.

ZABO’s New Track Will Make You Rise Like a Phoenix

Written by: Michael Placencia

Making good on his goal to produce music featuring more vocalists, ZABO certainly has delivered with an uplifting track in the form of “Phoenix.” This song burns itself within you in such a good way. It’s thanks to TINYKVT’s beautiful voice that breathes such life into this, accompanied by that powerful first drop, which gives you everything you need to rise up. The second drop feels more like ZABO, while giving off those machine-like bass sounds and elements. Tracks like these carry even greater depth when you’re going through a pandemic. It’s almost as if it serves as a message to rise up even when things are keeping you down.

Here’s what Tyler himself had to say about the track:

“With this track, I really tried to capture what it feels like when you’re first falling in love. i_o & Lights Annihilate Our Souls With New Single

Written by: Michael Placencia

Right on the heels of his 4AM EP, (out May 29th) i_o has joined forces with Lights to give us this beautifully insightful track. ‘Tell me why you hurt me, what’s your fascination? Come and bring your body to me, I crave annihilation…” Lights‘ voice soars throughout with a softness that soothes the soul. The track itself is classic deadmau5 vibes, with a stimulating baseline, catchy kicks & claps, and those signature plucks that will stimulate your senses. This song is perfect for those who have been through a hard relationship. “Annihilation” is a great prelude for the final part of the 3 part 444 project. The end of May can’t come soon enough!
